Healthy Hair tips and trying out the new Matrix Total Results re-bond line.

On a recent visit to the Salon, I was Introduced to the new Matrix Total Results Re-Bond system.  I get split ends very easily so I was excited to try it out. During my visit my stylist Conor used this three step routine on my hair and I Instantly felt the results. He started with the Re-bond Shampoo, did a double cleanse to wash away dirt and prime the hair for step 2 which is a Pre- Conditioner. He left it on my hair for about 5 minutes and then layered step 3 on top. Step 2 is only to be used about once a week to re-connect and re-inforce the hairs weakened bonds. Step 3, the Re-Bond Conditioner is the final step and is used to seal in the moisture and protect hair from the inside- out. As soon as we were done and my hair was styled I immediately saw my split ends were less noticeable and my hair felt very soft ( pictured above) I’ve been using this trio for about 2 weeks now and I can definitely say that I’ve noticed a significant difference!

Healthy Hair Tips

1. Get smarter about your shampoo. Clarifying formulas usually strip the hair so what you want is something damage repairing like the Matrix re-bond line.

2.Don’t wash your hair more than you have to. Excess washing can dry out your hair so whenever you can skip a day, that’s great. Instead, embrace a dry shampoo that’s a hard-core oil and odor absorber. Matrix’s PlayBack refreshes your hair and extends your look without the damage from another blow dry.

3.Treat your hair to a deep conditioning masque once or twice a week. Depending on the ingredients used, these products provide a rush of hydration (even more so than the average conditioner) and nutrients that repair and nourish the hair shaft. I like the Biologe r.a.w re-hydrate mask.

 4. Anything that speeds up a blowout is good, less heat means less damage. Blot (don’t rub) your hair with a towel, I like to used the Aquis towel because it absorbs a lot more than a a regular towel and it makes blowouts take half the time. Add a quick-dry spray and you’ll be out the door in no time! Matrix-Turbo Dryer contains fast drying agents that tame frizz and flyaways and protect against heat.

5. Untangle your hair from the bottom instead, working your way up to eliminate breakage, and try not to brush when its wet, hair is more susceptible to damage when it’s damp than when it is dry.

6. Before heading into the pool, jump in the shower and soak your hair with water. Your hair will absorb the fresh water, essentially not leaving any room for your hair to absorb as much of the chlorinated water once you dive in. Follow up with a quick rinse as well. This will prevent the chemical deposits from sitting in your hair, further warping the color and drying them out.

7. Spray on a heat protectant before applying a curling iron. You don’t want to soak your strands but lightly spray any area where your hair will be touching the direct heat. I use the heat-buffer by Matrix.

8. Get trims often. Trimming simply keeps hair more healthy as it grows. Trimming split ends off regularly–every 8 to 12 weeks is recommended and allows your hair to grow with less breakage and thinning.

II use a natural hair mask on my hair once a week, my hair was so frizzy and dry a friend had recommended I do a “egg wash” weekly, its just literally beaten eggs and I cover my head for a hour and wash it out, its already made such a huge difference in the dryness 🙂

I love to use baby powder instead of dry shampoo. I don’t find it nearly as harsh on my hair/scalp and it gives a great matte finish on days that I don’t have time to wash my hair.

I donate my hair to Wigs for Kids every other year. It takes 9″ of hair to donate. It should be as healthy as possible. My best tip for healthy hair is try and let your hair dry naturally as much as possible. The blow dryer is very hard on your hair. Thank you for this Great giveaway 🙂

Any product from the brand briogeo does the job for me in regards to hair care.
A tip I always bring up when the topic of hair comes up is to only incorporate your shampoo into your roots up until the mid level of your hair, as most shampoos will dry out the ends of your hair.

I love the hair products from Matrix. Being a stay at home mom to a toddler has left little time to keep up with hair maintenance leaving me with damaged hair . I find that using a sulfate-free shampoo is the best way to help me stay on top of it. Biolage R.A.W. Nourish Shampoo by Matrix is amazing. A quick and easy hair tip that I find helps is to rinse with cold water. Thanks for all the tips here I will put them to good use!
