Tulum

I recently just visited Tulum for the first time for a fun girls trip and learned so much about where to go and what to eat I thought I would share it with you guys! If you’re planning on going then this is a must read!

THINGS TO KNOW:

If you’ve never been to Tulum before then there are some basic things you should know!

Bring Cash- It’s best to get pesos from bank before flying in as the local currency places charge an arm and a leg, also a lot of restaurants only take cash.

Don’t drink the water – This may sounds like an obvious one but I would actually stop on way in and get bottled water to even brush teeth

Its a 2 hour drive from Cancun airport – I recommend renting a car as there are lots of fun day trips around Tulum including ruins and Cenotes.

No need to pack heels ! I didn’t see anyone wearing them when I was there and i think its not the style there. Definitely bring lots of linen and gauze fabric pieces.

THINGS TO DO:

Habitas – My favourite place to spend the day. Beautiful boho beach club with daybeds and an an awesome restaurant, you could easily spend the day here and its a 50$ minimum spend per person.

Rent a bike- Cruise along the beach road, stop at matcha mamma for a smoothie, stop at al the lovely shops.

Papaya Playa Project – I only came here for the pop-up cabaret show and nightclub which is outside by the beach. I hear it’s awesome during the day as well and a lower minimum spend but get here early because it was already full when we tried to go around 11 am.

Cenotes – Some are very touristy but you can easily find hidden ones if you ask around. I loved Gran Cenote and really want to visit Cenote Calavera next time, I didn’t realize how close it was to town until after we left!

Tulum Ruins – I haven’t been but its something to do if you want a day off from the beach, it looks beautiful and is super closeby.

Yaan Wellness Spa – If you’re looking to hit the spa this is the best one in Tulum.

WHERE TO EAT:

Posado Margherita – Italian, so obv’s may favourite ! They have the most delicious focaccia table bread.

Hartwood – My other favourite lol! Book early because they are booked months in advance and take cash only.

Gitano – Great food and vibes, best on a Friday because it turns into a party.

Real Coconut – Healthy lunch or breakfast where everything is made with coconut flour. Also a great place to spend the day!

Nomade – Get the shrimp tacos! Also the best place to spend the entire day.

Raw Love – Raw vegan restaurant in the jungle as well as smoothies beachside. very tasty and healthy.

Casa Jaguar – One of the oldest, amazing for seafood.

Other popular restaurants that I didn’t get to try- Casa Banana, Mur Mur, Casa Violeta, Rosa Negra, Loyal Order,

WHERE TO STAY;

Air BnB’s- There are so many amazing spots and this way you can cook some of your own meals etc, lots fo them have private pools as well and if you rented a car its perfect, this is what I did.

Other notable hotels to stay at are;

Azulik – luxury tree house, I heard there no power in guest rooms so no lights and cant charge your phone as well as no running water. Maybe stay here for one night just for the experience if your into that sort of thing lol.

Casa Malca – Pablo Escobar old mansion, really cool décor, hidden underground swimming pool.

Casa Pueblo – Minimalistic trendy decor with modern rooms.

Nomade – Jungle vibes, young and trendy
